FAQs for Overseas Guests

Q: About payment methods?

Q: Can I participate even if I can't swim?

A: Beginners are welcome.

We recommend booking a private beach snorkeling tour.

Boat tours and diving tours are more difficult than beach snorkeling.

 

Q: Can children under 5 participate?

A: Yes, if both the beach and boat are chartered, but please contact us for inquiries.

 

Q: Can people over 60 participate?

A: Yes, as long as you are in good health.

If you have a chronic illness, you must submit a medical certificate. If you are not physically fit, please book a private tour.

For introductory diving only, reservations are accepted up to 65 years old.

 

Q: Can I see sea turtles?

A: Beach snorkeling tours offer the highest chance of encountering sea turtles, but not 100%.

Also, during the summer, due to the increase in tourists and swimmers, the chance of encountering sea turtles drops significantly. Even if you do see it during the tour, please understand and cooperate by not getting too close or chasing it.

 

Q: Will the tour be held in the rain?

A: Tours will be held as usual in normal rainy weather. Since Zamami does not have any large rivers, water visibility is not significantly affected.

In the event of weather that poses a safety hazard, such as a typhoon, strong winds, high waves, or lightning, we reserve the right to cancel the tour at our discretion, even if it is sunny and not raining.

Please note that cancellations due to rainy weather, when the tour is still possible, will be considered personal reasons.

 

Q: I am prone to seasickness and waves, can I still participate?

A: Yes, you can, but please take motion sickness medication.

Many of the boat tour locations are located within 5-10 minutes of the port, making it easy for those prone to motion sickness. However, if you are concerned, please book a beach tour instead.

 

Q I have poor eyesight.

A: Please bring your usual disposable contact lenses if you have them.

If you wear glasses, we can provide prescription masks, so please let us know your prescription in advance. (-3.0, 4.0, 5.5, 6.0)

 

Q What is the start time and duration of the tour?

A:  Morning pick-up is at 8:45 AM, and afternoon pick-up is at 1:00 PM.

The duration varies depending on the tour, so please check the menu.

 

Q Is there a pick-up service?

A Yes, we provide free transportation.

However, those staying in Ama village will meet at the our shop.

 

Q How long will the swimming and diving time be?

A: Snorkeling and diving take 40-50 minutes per point.

 

Q What is included in the price?

A: It depends on the tour. Please check the menu.

 

Q: Will photos be taken during the tour?

A: We film with a GoPro, and the photos and videos will be edited and provided to you.

However, due to safety concerns, such as assisting unsure swimmers, the number of shots may be limited. Safty first. Thank you for your understanding.

 

Q: What do I need to bring?

A: Please bring your own swimsuit (they cannot be purchased on the island).

It's also a good idea to bring a towel, sunscreen, and motion sickness medicine.

 

Q: Can I store large luggage?

A: Yes, you can store your luggage at the store or in the our car. There are also lockers for valuables.

Please keep the amount of luggage you bring onto the boat to a minimum.

 

Q: What should I wear on the tour?

A: In the summer, please protect yourself from the sun with a rash guard or other protective gear. It is also prohibited to walk around the village in just your swimsuit, so it's a good idea to bring a T-shirt and shorts to wear after the tour. In the winter, it can be cold when you get out of the water, so it's a good idea to bring a windbreaker or a thick parka that you can quickly put on.

 

Q: Can I use the showers after the tour?

A: There are one indoor and two outdoor hot showers. Round-trippers have priority. If you're staying overnight on the island, we'll transport you back to your accommodation after the tour, so please use the showers there.

 

Q: Can I rent equipment after the tour?

A: For safety reasons, we do not rent equipment outside of the guide's supervision.

There are rental shops at both Ama Beach and Furuzamami Beach, so please use those and use the equipment at beaches where lifeguards are on duty.

 

Q: Can I change the booking date?

A: If there are available reservations, you can change the date at the last minute.

 

Q: When do typhoons hit?

A: It varies greatly from year to year. In 2024 and 2025, there were no typhoons during typhoon season, July through September. (There were some boat cancellations due to typhoons, but the sea conditions on the island were suitable for tours.)

If you're concerned, please contact us two weeks before your trip. We'll provide advice based on the forecast. Additionally, there is no cancellation fee even if you cancel at the last minute due to a typhoon.

 

Q I can't find a place to stay in Zamami.

A: We can make reservations and recommend recommended accommodations exclusively for our customers.

Many accommodations are not listed on reservation sites, and popular accommodations fill up during the summer. Please contact us early in your consideration phase.

 

Q Can I make a reservation for a boat from Naha?

A: We currently do not offer reservation services for either high-speed boats or ferries. 24-hour online reservations are available, so please use those.

Q Can I rent weights for skin diving?

A: If you hold a skin diving or free diving license and are deemed to have no skill issues, you can rent weights. For safety reasons, rentals are not permitted for others.

 

Q Do I need to make a restaurant reservation?

A: Yes, dinner reservations are required. Please make a reservation before coming to the island. Lunch reservations are not accepted.
